GHO: IYRC 2021

Website moved: https://www.the-iyrc.org/

The Global Health and Leadership Conference (GHLC) planned by medical students at Columbia University and UCLA along with undergrads at Harvard College has partnered with the Columbia University Global Health Organization (GHO) in the Global Health and Population Medicine Department, the Harvard College Japan Initiative, and The International Young Researchers' Conference (IYRC) and will be called Global Health Organization: International Young Researchers' Conference (GHO: IYRC) going forward. As this change has come mid programming, we will continue to use this site and the info@ghlcprogram.org email until the March 27-28 conference to avoid confusion. Thank you for your understanding.

About.

What is the Global Health Organization (GHO): International Young Researchers' Conference (IYRC)?

The Global Health Organization: International Young Researchers' Conference (formerly Global Health and Leadership Conference) is a program that acts as a platform for student creativity and innovation. Students have the opportunity to conduct research, tackle issues in their local community, and write narratives to share patient stories. The conference hopes to help students grow as future leaders. Learning outcomes are bidirectional, fostering interdisciplinary and intergenerational collaboration between mentees and mentors.

University Affiliation

The GHO: IYRC (formerly GHLC) is hosted by students at Harvard College and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S). We work with Harvard College Japan Initiative, which is an officially recognized student organization at Harvard College. Our founder is an Alumnus of Harvard College and a listed interviewer, but would not be involved in your admissions. At Columbia VP&S, the IYRC is under the Global Health Organization (GHO), which is supported by the Program for Education in Global and Population Health, under the Department of Medical Education at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Our work is done by students and faculty and represents our views, which is not necessarily those of the CUIMC and Harvard institutions as a whole.
Our mission to is to bridge the gap between coursework and community leadership by uniting students with a passion for global health; integrating schools and local communities through education, research, and innovation; and helping students understand the commitment to global health as a fundamental quality of liberty and equity.
